The Nonexistent

Peace... Calm... Quiet... Serenity... He found it all on a platform of rock that jutted haphazardly from the cliff-side of the mountain he climbed nearly every 2 or 3 days. Sometimes life would keep him from his regular trek into the skies, but more often than not, he could find solitude on that small space... On that tiny bit of the world away from the world. It was here one can begin to realize and discover truths about themselves, think and reflect on the many trials and consequences they've faced, good or bad. It is here, one like himself can be lost into an ocean of thought and truly, may never find their way back alone.

Aaryn was like his peers in most respects. Age, obviously; Same size, weight, classes; He was pretty much your ordinary, every-day high-schooler, except for the friends... he had few. The relationships... he longed for, but never pursued. The hobbies... he really spent more time thinking and pondering than actually doing anything. And most of all, he had a desire to withdraw from society and become a mere observer... unnoticed... insignificant... irrelevant.

On the inside, Aaryn felt like he was screaming at someone endlessly. It didn't matter who, because the person he hated had no face. He called them __, and __ sat in his mind, mocking him, taunting him, degrading him. __ laughed every time Aaryn didn't accomplish his goals, and was furious if Aaryn fought him down, and swallowed the small pride that was growing.
